The NIHR CLAHRC East Midlands is one of 13 regional CLAHRC partnerships funded by the NIHR. We work with more than 50 local partners from universities, the NHS, industry and the public to improve health outcomes across the region thus delivering and implementing world class health research to ensure healthier and longer lives for residents in the East Midlands.

NIHR CLAHRCs (Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care) are collaborative partnerships between a university and the surrounding NHS organisations, focused on improving patient outcomes through the conduct and application of health research. CLAHRCs are funded by and are a part of the NIHR (the National Institute for Health Research) to create and evaluate new treatments and embed their research into the NHS. Dissemination of research outputs is specifically designed to take into account the way that healthcare is delivered across sectors and wide geographical areas.
