Big White Wall
is an initiative that provides online support for people suffering from common mental health problems. In 2015/16 the Derbyshire Integrated Digital Mental Health Service project piloted the Big White Wall throughout Derbyshire thanks to a partnership between EMAHSN, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Big White Wall and Hardwick Clinical Commissioning Group.

Big White Wall is a national online portal offering free, safe and anonymous online support round the clock for issues such as work related stress, anxiety and relationship difficulties. Under the partnership, the service is available to all Derbyshire residents aged over 16 years old as part of an 18-month pilot and will include online access to live therapy services provided by Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The Derbyshire pilot was a first for the East Midlands region, but Big White Wall is also available for free in many areas of the UK via the NHS, employers, and universities. It is also free to all UK serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

The project concluded in March 2017 and was subject to a full evaluation by NIHR MindTech HTC available pdfhere.
