SBRI Healthcare is an Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) led programme for NHS England, delivering the innovation health and wealth agenda. The initiative supports 2 competitions a year, inviting companies to come forward with their ideas and new technologies for known NHS challenges. Targeted at SMEs and early stage businesses it gives vital funding for a critical stage of product development. Find out more on our SBRI web page.

Organisations such as Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) issue calls and competitions to further invest in companies in their areas. Click through to our interactive map to see our LEPs. 

There are a number of Enterprise Zones in our region that offer a range of support to those who have located in or are planning to locate in the zone, support includes business rate discounts, government grants to install superfast broadband and enhanced capital allowances in some zones. Our interactive map shows you the location of these Enterprise Zones.

Alternative sources of funding are also available such as venture capital funding, Biocity hosts a number investors who invest and support small businesses to grow.
