EMAHSN
We work in a number of clinical priority areas that have been identified by our East Midlands NHS partners. Current clinical priority areas include:

What is the EMAHSN doing in these areas and how can you get involved?

If you are from industry or third sector organisations here’s how you can get involved:

Innovation Exchange events and webinars
These are a brilliant way to learn about the challenges faced in our clinical priority areas and to help you adapt your products and innovations to fit current healthcare needs. They provide opportunities to showcase innovations and network with clinical leads, commissioners and patient representatives.

EMAHSN projects
The aim of our core projects is to successfully deploy proven innovations throughout the East Midlands and nationally through our work with the other 14 AHSNs.

We understand that the NHS can be challenging to enter; our projects are given support to identify and overcome barriers that stall putting innovations into practice. EMAHSN project support includes:
  • Clinical pathway mapping
  • Project management
  • Patient and public involvement
  • Health economics and business case development
  • Communications
  • Healthcare system navigation
  • Seed funding

Calls for proposals
Calls for proposals to select new healthcare innovations in our priority areas are launched on a regular basis. Successful applications are taken on as exciting new EMAHSN projects. If you have an innovation in one of our priority areas and would like to be invited to future events and calls, please register your interest with us.

Does your proven innovation sit outside our clinical priority areas?
Although we have our clinical priority areas, the EMAHSN still likes to hear about other exceptional innovations in other areas. Please visit the How can we help? pages of our site, and if relevant complete an Exceptional Proposal Form and send this to us.

Examples of current EMAHSN clinical projects involving innovations from commercial and third-sector organisations include:
  • Big White Wall - community mental health support tool
  • FaHRAS - family history risk assessment software
  • Amgen Ltd. - community based complementary cancer patient medication
  • Macmillan Cancer Support - electronic holistic needs assessment
  • Aranz Silhouette - community based 3D imaging of diabetic foot ulcers

Future calls for proposals and expansions to our clinical and patient safety programmes will seek to maximise the inclusion of innovations from industry and third-sector organisations.
